Australian record-breaking marathon swimmer and Queen of the Channel Chloë McCardel has this week announced four new swims from some of England's most Famous maritime landmarks.
Each swim will start at a different lightship in the English Channel and end at the English Shore. The distances are as follows:
- Varne 10km
- Goodwin East 13km
- Sandettie 25km
- Greenwich 42km
Described as the greatest ultra-marathon swimmer in history, Chloe has broken many world records including the most crossings of the Channel and uses her expertise to coach swimmers.
This will be an exciting chance to swim from one of these historic ships – the operation of the very first light vessel station goes back over 250 years to the placement of the world's first lightship in the early 18th century.
