Kozii men’s swimwear

We first came across Kozii at Swim Expo in Manchester and grabbed a few samples to review. In the world of men’s swimwear, where there really isn’t much to play with, we were genuinely surprised to find something a little different.

The most obvious is the range of bright prints, which will almost certainly attract comment the first time you wear them, but that’s not in fact the best feature. That would be the material, which feels distinctly softer, silkier and more stretchy than your average costume. As an extra touch, we really liked the elasticated draw cord, which isn’t something you come across very often. It seems a bit odd to start with but it holds your trunks perfectly in place without any need to over-tighten. Comfort isn’t usually a factor in men’s swimming costumes, but these are definitely one of the most comfortable we’ve ever tried.

The brand originates in Australia and is still a privately owned family business. All costumes are designed and manufactured in Australia under the supervision of their in-house designer. Prints and colour combinations are only ever run for a single season so there’s always something new to look out for.

Kozii offers the full range of cuts from briefs and wide-sided pace pants to knee length jammers. Performance wise, all are great for training and feel sleek through the water. They’re suitable for racing too, providing you’re not looking for the compression and streamlining you get in top end (and many times more expensive) competition suits. The costumes hold their shape and colours well and are quick drying.

Briefs from £19.50, Jammers £34.50
