Capernwray is one of the best locations for Open Water Swimming in the UK.
The water is clean and clear, the wildlife is friendly (there’s a 6ft long black Sturgeon in there somewhere that might come to say hello!) and many of the underwater features for the divers are visible as you swim round. So there’s plenty to keep you occupied!
The centre has toilet, changing and shower facilities. The Porthole café also serves hot drinks and the popular post swim chips!
Swim distances: choose from 500m, 1000m or 1500m.
