How to control what emails you receive from us

Our mission at Outdoor Swimmer is to help you make the most of your swimming. We do this by creating relevant and inspiring content that we publish in Outdoor Swimmer magazine. This is available:

  • in print
  • in the digital versions of our print magazines on Pocket Mags that you can read via our app
  • behind our paywall on outdoorswimmer.com as ‘Outdoor Swimmer Extra’.

Additionally, we publish swimming news and other informative swimming-related stories on our website, which are available for free.

The Dip

We send out The Dip, our free weekly email newsletter, to subscribers and members who have opted in to receive it. It contains links to both free and premium content on our website. Every issue of The Dip includes an unsubscribe link.

We also regularly send readers of The Dip information about the latest issue of Outdoor Swimmer magazine, including how to purchase the magazine or join Outdoor Swimmer, special offers, exclusive competitions related to relevant brands and organisations, and updates on our events, courses, and merchandise. If you pay for your membership, you won’t get these promotional emails.

Emails to members

We don’t intentionally send promotional emails to Outdoor Swimmer magazine members. If you’re a Gold, Silver or Extra member, or a Patron or Super-Patron and continue to receive these emails, it may be because you used a different email address when you signed up. Please email info@outdoorswimmer.com if this is happening, and we will help you out.

If you’re an Outdoor Swimmer member and have opted in to receive them, we will send you emails about our Virtual Event Series and other member benefits. We recommend that you opt in to receive emails from us so you don’t miss out on your member benefits (see below).

How to control what you receive

If you no longer wish to receive The Dip, use the unsubscribe link in any of our emails. (Please don’t report them as spam – this makes it harder for those who want them to get our emails.) If you are a member of Outdoor Swimmer, this won’t affect any member-only communications you receive from us.

If you are a Gold member, you can control your subscription-related communications in your account as follows:

  • Go to https://www.mymagazinesub.co.uk/outdoor-swimmer-family/
  • Log in to your account (top right), click on “Welcome [your name]” and select “Manage my account”
  • Click on “Update my profile”, scroll down and choose your options.
  • Once updated, click “Save your details”.

If you are a Silver member and get digital magazines through Pocket Mags, then log onto your Pocket Mags account via a browser, click on My Account and scroll down to select or deselect communications from Outdoor Swimmer.

Please note that it may take one to two weeks for changes to be processed as we update our email lists manually.
