Marathon Swims launches 50km challenge

Marathon Swims has launched a new 50km challenge. The marathon swimming event series has launched its Marathon Swims Virtual Challenge 2021. The Ultra Marathon 50k joins the Ultra Marathon 25k and the Marathon 10k as challenges for November 2021. Marathon Swims will be returning to the London Aquatics Centre, on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park as a live event in 2022.

Marathon Swims’ founder Diccon Loy said, “We’re excited to see the return of the Marathon Swims Virtual Challenge for its second year. We had a fantastic response last year to the virtual challenge with swimmers taking part in open water and pools nationwide and internationally and we aim to exceed last year’s participation and fundraising.”

Entry to the Marathon Swims Virtual Challenge is free and entry is now open, with limited spaces. The Ultra Marathon 50k has just 50 places available. The virtual challenge enables participation at any location, at any time over the month of November, with fundraising encouraged for swimming charity Level Water.
