Outdoor Swimmer Climategames 2025 League – Leaderboard
How you helped plant 930 trees by swimming
Each year, we run a swimming training league with Climategames – an organisation that helps people turn their exercise into environmental action, such as planting trees and removing plastic from the ocean.
It works as follows:
- We set up swimming challenges on the Climategames platform
- You download the Climategames app, set up an account and join one (or more) or our challenges
- Climategames commits to arranging the relevant climate action
In addition to our annual swimming league, we also organise monthly challenges. It’s free to join, and your swims are logged automatically if you connect your training watch. Otherwise, you can add your swims manually.
We had 93 participants in our 2025 league, resulting in the equivalent of planting 930 trees through Earthlungs Mangrove Restoration. In 2025, as of 22 December, participants had covered a total of 11,940km (something like swimming from London to Buenos Aires) and had swum for a combined 4839 hours.
Megan Barker topped the league with 842km and looks unlikely to be caught at this stage – Congratulations Megan! See below for the top 24 swimmers by distance.
