Life Edge waterproof cases for iPad and iPhone

Last summer, in an article on ‘How to photograph your swimming holiday’ (Aug/Sep 2013), we recommended putting your old iPhone in a waterproof case and using it for taking swimming snapshots. We’d be happy to put a new phone in one of these cases from Lifedge, which is not only 100% waterproof, it’s also shock proof but still allows full functionality. For added security you could also add a float and wrist strap.

We didn’t really envisage swimming with an iPad but with the equivalent case for that you could do. Even if you’re not swimming the case would be useful to keep out sand and grit if you took your iPad to the beach or riverside. We liked the elasticated strap on the back that makes it easy and secure to hold onto – so much so that you could almost use it as a hand paddle. It’s even got a useful clip on stand to prop up your iPad for reading. We found both a little tricky to open for first use (hint: read the instructions) but once we had the knack we had no further problems.

£74.99 (iPhone) and £99.00 (iPad)
