Combine swimming and plane spotting with Prospect Hospice event
The third running of Prospect Hospice’s Bowmoor Lake swim will take place this year on 18 July, the same weekend as the nearby Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford, which means swimmers will be able to watch the aircraft flyby from the water.
The swim takes place at Bowmoor Sailing Lake, just outside Lechlade, and participants are able to make use of the changing facilities and showers. Distances range from 500m to 3.8km.
“Spectators and supporters are more than welcome to come along and refreshments are available to purchase on the day,” says Genevieve Arney of Prospect Hospice. “Lots of people bring picnics and barbeques and stay after the swim to watch the planes.”
