New lido to open in Oxfordshire

Oxford Lido

Queenford Lakes in Oxfordshire are set to open a new lido this summer. The new designated enclosed swim area will provide a space for relaxed swimming for adults (18+).

"We really wanted to give swimmers more opportunities to be able to enjoy access to clear water in a beautiful setting and relaxed atmosphere," says Katia Vastiau, a member of the safety team at the lake. "All our other open water swim sessions remain unchanged, but this just offers the possibility to have a swim at other times of day, every day!"

The lido will not be lifeguarded, but will be supervised by staff on site and via video. Swimmers will be required to bring a friend to swim with or spot them from the shore, as well as swimming with a compulsory tow float.
