Swim Ireland launch new membership category
Swim Ireland, the national governing body for swimming, diving and water polo in Ireland, have announced the launch of a new membership category entitled ‘Me and the Water’.
The membership will cater to “those who love to dip their toe, swim out to the buoy and back, enjoy an early morning workout in the pool and a whole community who have a passion for and relationship with the water, but are not members of a club”.
Speaking at the launch, Sarah Keane, CEO of Swim Ireland, said: “We want people to share their relationship with the water and afford these people the opportunity to share their story and become part of a wider community.
“It will be about members making and building human connections and telling us their stories as to why they love to swim. It is about the members communicating with each other and not about Swim Ireland, we are the conduit that makes it all happen.”
‘Me and the Water’ members will be given access to member-only events, monthly prizes and giveaways, a specially-designed ‘Me and the Water’ swim hat, real-life stories to inspire swimmers in their ‘Me And The Water’ journey, access to training plans, videos, tips and drills to help improve stroke and fitness levels, as well as discounts for Swim Ireland and its partner’s events.
