Local victory for Xin in World Cup in Chun’An

It was a local victory for Xin Xin in the sixth leg of the FINA/HOSA Marathon Swimming World Cup on Sunday 9 October in Chun’An, China. Xin claimed China’s first ever gold medal in the World Cup history, touching first in the women’s race in 2h05m55s8

Argentina’s Cecilia Biagioli took silver in 2h06m37s1. Arianna Bridi (Italy) completed the podium with a bronze medal. Rachele Bruni (Italy) was fourth and Brazil’s Poliana Okimoto and Ana Marcela Cunha were fifth and sixth respectively.

In the men’s race, Italy’s Simone Ruffini, took gold in 1h56m01s3, with Andreas Waschburger (Germany) in second place in 1h56m02s9 and Brazil’s Allan Do Carmo taking third place in 1h56m05s6.

The seventh and final leg of the FINA/HOSA Marathon Swimming World Cup will be held in Hong-Kong on October 15.
