Outdoor Swimmer’s Simon Griffiths nominated for WOWSA Man of the Year Award
Simon Griffiths, Outdoor Swimmer’s founder and publisher, has been nominated for the World Open Water Swimming Association (WOWSA) Man of the Year Award.
In the nomination, WOWSA says:
“Simon Griffiths finished a decade as the publisher of Outdoor Swimmer, the world’s first and only printed magazine fully dedicated to open water swimming. He is relentless in his appreciation for the sport: as a lifestyle, as a healthful exercise and competition that challenges the mind and body, as an activity that is shared with a profound level of camaraderie that crosses borders, ages, abilities, and cultures.”
In addition, WOWSA said the nomination recognises Simon’s work in “constantly promoting the niche disciplines of open water swimming in an entertaining, informative bundle.”
Other nominees include Florian Wellbrock (Tokyo Olympics Gold Medallist), Kristof Rasovsky (Tokyo Olympics, Silver), Josef Koeberl (Ice swimmer and President of the Ice Swimming Association in Austria) and Steve Stievanart (marathon and ice swimmer).
