Swim the Big Blue expedition seeks crowd-funded sponsorship
British adventurer Ben Hooper is planning to swim across the Atlantic, starting in November this year, and he doesn’t want to get eaten by sharks. He’s therefore been out in Key West, Florida, working and training with a team of shark experts to figure out an effective (yet harmless) shark repellent system.
He’s found one, and now he needs to raise some sponsorship to cover the costs. He’s therefore launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise money through crowd source funding.
“We are asking for crowd-sourced sponsorship to help pay for the shark-repellent and support team, so I don’t get eaten on route!” says Ben. “Donations start at $1 (66p) and I would really appreciate it if people could join in and then share the link with friends, family and colleagues, to help spread the word.”

Sponsors get name-checked, social media coverage and, if they put in sufficient, the opportunity to display their logo on the support boat.
Meanwhile, Ben says: “all is on track; training is going great and our boat is almost ready!”
Ben is also sponsored by Arena.
