Torq names 2015 Performance Swim Team
Nutrition company Torq set a precedent last year in the world of open water swimming by creating and sponsoring a Performance Swim Team. Using the model the company developed for mountain biking and triathlon, Torq selected a handful of talented swimmers to represent them at open water events around the UK.
Eighty five swimmers applied to join the team for 2015 and last week Torq announced its selection of seven, which includes some familiar names from last year plus a few new swimmers.
Those continuing with team from last year are Vicky Miller, Victoria Pritchard, Adam Warner and Guy Giles. The new team members are Sophie Evans, Georgia Amison and Tom Roberts.
These swimmers will be competing in races from 1500m to more than 10 miles or tackling solo marathon challenges throughout 2015, so look out for their distinctive black and orange caps at an event near you.
