Christmas issue of H2Open Magazine on sale now

The December 2015/January 2016 issue of H2Open magazine goes on sale this week, featuring interviews with Team GB marathon swimmer Jack Burnell, seven-time English Channel swimmer Becky Lewis and Oceans Seven contender and ME sufferer Beth French. We have expert advice on how to train for an ice mile, one of swimming’s most extreme challenges; and we look at the ultimate wild swim: swimming with killer whales.

Other highlights include:
Swimrun
We take an in-depth look at the new endurance sport of swimrun.
Travel
Follow the whisky trail in Speyside; recreate Lord Byron’s crossing of the Bay of Poets; swim the French Riviera; and we report from Swim the Island in Italy.
Training
How to cope in rough water by Total Immersion’s founder and head coach Terry Laughlin; guest coach Lawrence Stubbs on the power of the team; and Fiona Ford’s distance training sets for the festive season.
Gear
We test all the latest swimming gear and equipment. Plus, our Christmas wish-list – perfect gifts for open water swimmers.

I created Outdoor Swimmer in 2011 (initially as H2Open Magazine) as an outlet for my passion for swimming outdoors. I've been a swimmer and outdoor swimmer for as long as I remember. Swimming has made a huge difference to my life and I want to share its joys and benefits with as many people as possible. I am also the author of Swim Wild & Free: A Practical Guide to Swimming Outdoors 365 a Year and I provide one-to-one support to swimmers through Swim Mentoring.
