Swimrun comes to Ireland with 54km race

Swimrun continues to spread from its spiritual home of Sweden, with a new race scheduled to take place in County Donegal on Ireland’s north west Atlantic coast on 20 August.
The 54km Breca Árainn Mhór race will take place across the stunning wilderness of Árainn Mhór Island and The Rosses and will include 9km of sea swimming and 45km of trail running in 45 sections. The route will follow cliff paths, open sea and sand dunes, along with tough, rocky transitions. Organised by Breca Swimrun, the race is the first of its kind to be held in Ireland.
Participants will compete in men’s, women’s and mixed categories and up to 100 teams of two will take part.
