The Outdoor Swimmer Henley Swim Festival is back for 2023, and is shaping up to be one of the most exciting swimming events of the year.

The event opens for registrations at 8am on Monday 7 November, with big discounts for early birds. Register now to claim an unprecidented 50% discount for 1-mile and half-mile entries, plus markdowns across other race events.

Set a reminder for 8am on Monday to make sure you can take advantage of these unrivalled discounts, as there is a limited number of launch offers per event.

An event for all abilities

Taking place on Sunday 9 July 2023, against the picturesque setting of Temple Island Meadows, the event combines everything you could want from a festival, including a social camping village, music, food and drink, with all the essentials of an open water event.

There are swimming opportunities and events for all abilities, plus paddle boarding and a lifeguarded lido to cool off safely in the summer heat. Industry experts will also be on hand to share their advice, and there will be merchandise deals in the atmospheric festival village.

There are options to swim 200m, half-mile or 1 mile distances. Brave swimmers can take on suits vs skins, where you swim a mile once with your wetsuit on and once without. There’s also a four-mile challenge: four separate point-to-point miles with a walk between each one.

Free Macmillan Cancer Support places are also available, so you can enjoy open water swimming whilst helping Macmillan Cancer Support deliver their vital services. Swimmers can sign up for any of the events and distances on offer and benefit from a free place in return for fundraising; simply choose your event.

Make a weekend of it

After your swim, come along to the atmospheric festival village to warm up, celebrate your river swimming achievement and learn more about the open water community. Food and drinks stalls will be serving hearty and healthy meals and snacks, and there will be plenty of space to picnic.

If one day at this celebrated riverside location isn’t enough, why not make a weekend of it? A riverside campsite means that you will have plenty of time to explore Henley-on-Thames and the surrounding countryside with family, friends and swim buddies.

After a peaceful night, you will already be on-site and ready for your day – and you would be hard pressed to find a better view for your pre-swim coffee.
