Lake District National Park seeks volunteers for the Great North Swim

The Lake District National Park is on the lookout for Volunteer Event Stewards to offer a helping hand at this year’s Great North Swim.

Up to 10,000 swimmers, along with their supporters and families, are expected to visit Windermere over the weekend of 8 to 10 June. The Great North Swim is moving to a new venue for 2018 at the Lake District Visitor Centre, Brockhole-on-Windermere.

Beth Kennedy, Volunteers Team Leader, says: “The Great North Swim is a fantastic event which draws crowds from across the country. We’re looking for people who would like to join our team of volunteers for a few hours on one or more of the swim days, to help us give visitors and attendees a warm welcome to the Lake District.”

The deadline for applications to be a Volunteer Event Steward is 31 May. To find out more about the role visit www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/caringfor/volunteering/currentvolunteeringopportunities or call Beth Kennedy on 01539 792606.
