ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Series returns to Üto

The ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Series continues this weekend with a stop at the birthplace of swimrun. The island of Utö and its archipelago is where the original bet was made that instigated the sport of swimrun. Two hundred teams from 21 nations will compete in the second race of the World Series on Sunday 20 May.

Some of the best teams in the world will chase the coveted Golden Bib over the challenging 43km race course with 17 different swim sections and lots of tricky off-road trails. The water temperature is expected to be between 9 and 12 degrees Celsius.

“Finally we are back in the Stockholm Archipelago and the island of Utö. This is where it all started for us, 13 years ago and it feels like coming home. We cannot wait to share this location and race course as it is why swimrun has become the way it is,” says Mats Skott, Race Director and one of the founders of the sport.
