Outdoor Swimmer Henley Swim festival wins top rated swimming event for 4th year in Racecheck Awards

We’re delighted to see Racecheck have today announced that the Outdoor Swimmer Henley Swim Festival has won the Top Rated Swimming Event Award of 2021 in the coveted Racecheck Awards.

This is the 4^th consecutive year that a Henley Swim event has come out top of the hundreds of swim events in the UK, cementing the reputation of Henley Swim as a world-class event organiser. Respondents particularly highlighted Safety and Overall Organisation as outstanding.

Racecheck collects participant reviews for over 6000 mass participation events all over the world. Events that average more than 4.55 out of 5 qualify for gold, silver and bronze awards – in 2021 only 34 events reached this high standard.

This included all 4 Henley Swim events with the Outdoor Swimmer Henley Swim Festival being rated 4.76/5 and receiving a Gold Award, as well as the highest accolade of Top Rated Swim. The Selkie Henley Classic, Club to Pub and Thames Marathon all received Silver Awards.

Racecheck awards are the people’s choice, they are not chosen by a panel, but are judged by those that have participated, so are honest and genuine. Race participants are asked to rate 12 different aspects of the event including safety, marshalling, registration process and natural beauty. Each element is rated out of 5, and an overall rating is generated based on their responses.

“2021 was particularly difficult, we spent the first half of the year planning for events that we couldn’t be certain would take place due to ever changing Covid restrictions.

Receiving these 4 awards is testament to the enormous effort of the team and the volunteers to stage the events in this environment. We had to follow Covid protocols ensuring participants felt safe at all times at the same time as having the experience they signed up for. The reviews confirm that we found this balance, participants opinions are the most important of all, so we are delighted that our hard work has been recognised with these awards.”
