Outdoor Swimmer Magazine: our plan for surviving the coronavirus crisis

These are challenging times. As a media business, the only reason we are able to continue publishing Outdoor Swimmer magazine at this time is through the loyalty of our subscribers and the dedication of our own team.

We are an independent, privately owned publication. Our revenue comes from two sources: readers and advertisers. Unfortunately, the majority of our advertisers have had to suspend their operations and therefore their advertising. In addition, specifically with our April issue, we experienced delays in production and distribution due to coronavirus restrictions.

So, like almost everyone else, we have been forced to make some changes.

In order to ensure we can still be here when things improve again, we have decided to temporarily switch to a digital-only publication.

The digital version of Outdoor Swimmer magazine can be read on multiple devices (PC, iPad, Android tablets, Kindle Fire etc.) and is also available in a special mobile-friendly version adapted for phones.

We understand that the majority of our readers love the experience of receiving a printed magazine and we are sorry that we are unable to produce one at this time. Our editorial team are working flat out to ensure the May issue is a bumper issue packed with quality content – plus, we’re going to be experimenting with some of the additional features that digital publication allows.

Our print subscribers will get automatic access to the new digital issue. We’re also offering new readers:

An annual digital subscription for just £19.99* – saving 64% off the regular price of £54.99.

Free downloads of our new Swimrunner magazine, our two-part Beginner’s Guide to Outdoor Swimming and Escape the Pool, your guide to taking your swimming outdoors.
