Swim2CampBestival: 3km along the Dorset coast

This year’s CampBestival is scheduled to take place from 30 July to 2 August, and there’s a new way to get there: swim.

This new challenge, Swim2CampBestival, is a sister event to Swim2Bestival (a now fully-booked swim across the Solent to Bestival on the Isle of Wight that takes place later in the year). Swimmers will spend around 1.5 to two hours making their way along the Jurassic Coast, sweeping past Lulworth Cove and finishing at Durdle Door. Entrants are recommended to be able to swim at least 2km and to have some open water experience.
Entry cost is £150 which includes:

  • Entry to Camp Bestival
  • An exclusive Swim2CampBestival T-Shirt
  • Swim hat
  • Safety support for the duration of the event
  • Transport to the festival site after the swim if required
  • A main stage appearance to collect your finisher’s medal

In order to accept your place the organisers ask that you raise a minimum of £200 for charity.  Swim2CampBestival has nominated Poole Sailability (Registered Charity number 1126442) and 30% of the funds you raise will go to them.
Poole Sailability is a registered charity that is entirely managed and operated by volunteers.  Their mission statement is to ensure “disability is not a barrier to experiencing the joy of sailing”, and to achieve this they strive to make each session as enjoyable as possible with participants encouraged to take an active part in the sailing of the boats.
The remaining 70% can go to a charity of your choice, provided they are registered with Virgin Money Giving.
If you’d like to take part in the inaugural event, please send an email explaining why you’d like to Swim2CampBestival to info@swim2campbestival.co.uk
Closing date is 8pm on 1 June.
