Zoggs joins forces with Breast Cancer Now

Swimwear brand Zoggs has announced an exciting new partnership with charity Breast Cancer Now, including an epic swim challenge throughout June

On World Health Day on 7 April, swimwear brand Zoggs announced their exciting new partnership with leading research and support charity Breast Cancer Now.

The initiative will see them raise £25,000 for the charity through challenge events, online donations and contributions from leisure centre partners including Places Leisure and Everyone Active.

The money raised through the partnership will support the charity in achieving its ambition that by 2050, everyone diagnosed with breast cancer lives – and is supported to live well. Alongside the fundraising, the partnership aims to highlight the beneficial role of exercise for people affected by breast cancer and the importance of early detection.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, with one woman diagnosed every 10 minutes. Every year, around 55,000 women and 400 men are diagnosed with the disease. As the UK’s largest breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now funds world-class research and life changing support for people affected by breast cancer.

A swim challenge in June

Striving to empower and support the swim community, as part of the initiative Zoggs will also collaborate with community and fitness app Her Spirit to arrange exciting fundraising challenges to raise money for Breast Cancer Now. This includes the Swim For Her challenge – a 4-week swim challenge throughout June. Participants can choose between distances of 5 miles, 7.5 miles, 11 miles (a virtual swim of Coniston, Ullswater and Windermere) or you’re welcome to pick your own distance. Click here to register.

Charlotte Thomas, Head of Zoggs Marketing, said: “Many of our customers, colleagues and friends have been affected by this devastating disease, so we felt compelled to take action. We are proud to partner with Breast Cancer Now and be part of helping them achieve their ambition, and support people affected by breast cancer at all stages of treatment. We know how important it is that breast cancer is diagnosed at an early stage, so we’re proud to be using this partnership to highlight this in our community.”

Rachael Franklin, Director of Fundraising, Communications and Engagement at Breast Cancer Now, said: “We know that there are many benefits of physical activity like swimming throughout someone’s breast cancer experience, which is why we are delighted to be partnering with Zoggs this year. The partnership will allow us not only to raise vital funds for Breast Cancer Now’s research and support, but it will enable us to share health information on early detection with their community. We know that the sooner breast cancer is detected, the higher the chance of treatment being successful.”
