Zoggs launches its first range of wetsuits
For a major swimming brand, Zoggs has long been notable in the open water market for its lack of wetsuits. That will all change on 27 February with the launch of their new range of wetsuits at the 220 Triathlon Show.
We had a chance to sample a prototype of the new Zoggs wetsuit at a press event last September. With so many wetsuit brands on the market it’s a challenge to find a new unique selling point but Zoggs has cleverly tied the branding of its wetsuits to its Predator Flex goggles, which are popular with open water swimmers. The Zoggs wetsuits have been designed to provide “total flexibility to reduce fatigue and improve performance”. The model we tested, the top-of-the-range FX1, certainly seems to meet the flexibility claims, and we liked the bright splashes of colour.
There are three wetsuits in the range. The FX1 is designed for regular and accomplished swimmers and will retail at £330. It has all the technical features, flexibility and targeted buoyancy that you expect in a high-end suit. The mid-range FX2, aimed at intermediate swimmers, will retail at £220. The entry-level suit, designed for those new to open water swimming, features increased buoyancy and a slightly more generous fit and will retail at £165.
