Watch our Q&A with Freya Bromley, author of The Tidal Year

For our recent subscriber and patron event, Outdoor Swimmer editor Ella Foote spoke to Freya Bromley about The Tidal Year, her memoir on swimming and grief

Freya Bromley took an evening out of busy book tour to speak with Outdoor Swimmer subscribers about The Tidal Year, her memoir on swimming and grief.

Freya told us how her younger brother Tom died from a rare form of cancer at the age of 19 in 2016, and how outdoor swimming became a source of comfort and healing for her. In particular, she embarked on a project to explore Britain’s tidal pools. She spoke movingly about the friendships she made and the amazing communities she met during her travels.
