Celebrating 100 years of women’s waterpolo in Plymouth

Devonport Royal Swimming Association (Plymouth) are having a waterpolo tournament at Tinside Lido to celebrate 100 years of women’s waterpolo in the club

Devonport Royal Swimming Association are having a waterpolo tournament to celebrate 100 years of women’s waterpolo in the club. The event will also include men’s matches and is being held on Saturday 22 July at the beautiful Tinside Lido in Plymouth.

This year marks the centenary of the formation of the ladies’ section of Devonport Royal Swimming Association (DRSA). The club was founded in 1863, however it wasn’t until 1923 that ladies were first admitted into the club.

To mark this historic event the club is hosting a ladies’ water polo tournament in the historic Tinside Lido on Plymouth Hoe. This is the first time an event like this has taken place in the lido. Teams from Exeter and Weston-Super-Mere will be joining DRSA players for an evening of waterpolo and celebrations.

The fun starts at 5pm until 9pm on Saturday 22 July.
