A heartwarming wild swimming tale for Christmas
After a successful crowdfunder, wild swimming play Glacier will be premiering at The Old Fire Station in Oxford in December
“Lake Foxleighmere is tranquil, especially at Christmas. Lucy thinks it’s the perfect place for a good scream. Jools thinks it’s the perfect place to escape her family, just for an hour. Dawn thinks it’s the perfect place to become invisible.
All three have created an unofficial tradition of swimming at the same place on the same day. A place they can be away from responsibilities, from life’s disappointments and from the people they love.
Full of the warmth, wit and heartbreak of Christmas, Glacier is a festive comedy for adults about wild swimming, female friendship, and what happens when you throw your wedding ring into a lake.”
Sound good? We’re very excited about this festive comedy Glacier, by Alison Spittle, which will be showing at the Old Fire Station in Oxford from 4-23 December.
Last year the performing arts venue couldn’t host its much-loved Christmas show due to a lack of funds, so they launched a crowdfunder in August to fund this year’s production of Glacier. They smashed their target of £10,000 and look forward to welcoming audiences to watch this much anticipated play.
