Aqua Sphere join forces with Michael Phelps to launch new brand of competitive swim wear

Swim brand Aqua Sphere, best known in open water swimming circles for its wetsuits and popular wide-angle vision goggles, has announced a new partnership with Michael Phelps, the most decorated swimmer of all time.
Together, they have created the “MP” brand for a new line of technical swim products which include new high performance swim costumes for both men and women.
The new swim suit – labelled XPRESSO – will be available for men from mid-May and for women by mid-Summer. The suit has been developed with technical input and product testing from Phelps and also his coach Bob Bowman. The pair has also been closely involved in the development of the K180 and K180+ performance goggles.

“We are extremely excited to officially introduce Michael Phelps’ signature brand, MP, to the international marketplace highlighted by our fully integrated collaboration in the development and release of MP’s first competitive racing suit –XPRESSO,” says Todd Mitchell, Business Line Manager, Aqua Sphere. “Michael and Bob challenged Aqua Sphere to develop a racing suit that distinguishes itself from the other technologies available in the marketplace with particular attention to finding a way to increase the level of flexibility and range of motion to help improve performance. Our team of designers and engineers utilised Aqua Sphere’s proprietary technologies to develop a ground-breaking dual fabric technology, Exo-Core that is an innovative design combination of stability and flexibility fabrics, which serves as the signature feature of the XPRESSO.”

“My decision to partner with Aqua Sphere and launch the MP brand was driven by the opportunity to enhance the technical aspects of swimming products available in the marketplace and I am proud to be a part of the development of our first competitive racing suit,” said Phelps. “I believe we have created a racing suit that provides the correct level of compression in the right areas combined with flexibility that is noticeably significant in and out of the water.”
