NOWCA launches bright new badges to celebrate your winter swims

This season, NOWCA’s popular Sub10 milestone badges have a bright new look

November marks the start of cold water season and, for many of our swimmers, one of the best times of the year to get outdoors and swim.

There’s something special about winter swimming: crisp mornings, camaraderie at the water’s edge and that unmistakable feeling when you emerge from a cold dip. But as temperatures fall, it’s important to give the cold the respect it deserves.

Acclimatise gradually, listen to your body and remember that longer isn’t better. There’s no prize for staying in when your body is telling you it’s time to get out.

Our NOWCA Sub10 Club runs from 1 November to 31 March, bringing swimmers together throughout the colder months. Once the water drops below 10°C, qualifying swims count towards milestones and cold water achievements.

This season, our popular Sub10 milestone badges have a bright new look. The refreshed designs have been created to join together as you progress, forming a colourful celebration of your cold water achievements throughout the season.

Swimming at a participating NOWCA venue? Join Sub10 Club via the ACTiO app and your qualifying swims will be tallied automatically. Swimming elsewhere? Wild Sub10 Club lets you log your cold water swims through the NOWCA Wild app.

Whichever way you take part, Sub10 Club is about enjoying the cold safely, celebrating every dip and being part of a community that keeps swimming all winter long.
