Swim wild and free at Swim Serpentine

Come join us at Swim Serpentine Saturday 21 September in Hyde Park in London! Entries close at 5pm tomorrow (Thursday 5 September). Sign up yourself, or if you have friends or family who would like to try their first open-water adventure, why not encourage them to sign up for the half-mile or one-mile distances at the event? There’s even a women-only wave at 9am, which offers the opportunity to enjoy a relaxed early-morning swim as Hyde Park starts to come to life. Last chance to sign up here!

As well as swimming, there is loads more to keep you entertained out of the water. Outdoor Swimmer’s editor Jonathan Cowie and contributing editor Alice Gartland will be hosting the Festival tent – join them for a jam-packed programme of free films and talks celebrating the inspiring characters and incredible adventures from the world of outdoor swimming. Urban Mermaid Lindsey Cole will be chatting with Jonathan about her experiences from her ‘Swimming with Strangers’ adventure after spending six months dipping around the UK. Nathaniel Cole and Peigh Asant of urban swim club Swim Dem Crew will be live on stage with Alice discussing how swimming can be used as a tool to empower people. And marathon swimmer Coleen Blair will be sharing incredible stories of her long-distance swimming adventures. Plus the best in outdoor swimming short films, including Tonic of the Sea, Chasing the Frog and the joyful Well Preserved. Check out the full programme here.

Outdoor Swimmer will also have a tent where you can stop by to meet the team. Chat to us about your next swimming adventure – whether it’s your first open water mile, the best wild swim spots or swimming the English Channel! Jonathan, Alice and Jo will all be on hand to offer any last-minute tips and advice to help you enjoy your swim – as well as being swimmers themselves they are also qualified swimming teachers and open water coaches so come and benefit from their expert advice. We will also have special offers and competitions running throughout the day with the chance of winning free event entries, swim kit, coaching sessions, guided swims, books and swim apparel. See you there!
