Patrick Barkham has just published a biography of Deakin. Last Monday, he shared some of what he learned with Outdoor Swimmer subscribers. In a break from our usual Q&A format, Patrick gave a compelling presentation about Roger Deakin’s life, delving back into school reports, Deakin’s time as an advertising executive in 1960s London, his troubled love life, and his creation of a personal sanctuary at Walnut Tree Farm with its famous swimming moat.
