Get free places on iconic summer swims with FRANK Water

How do you fancy doing the Dart 10k, Henley Swim Bridge to Bridge, Coniston Chillswim or Windermere One-Way Swim for free? The charity FRANK Water has places to give away for each of these swims for swimmers who are prepared to raise funds to support their goal of improving access to clean water in developing countries. The minimum sponsorship target for each swim is just £300.

FRANK Water is a small safe water charity that has partnered with a handful of large-scale outdoor swims all around the country to raise funds to secure safe drinking water and toilets for some of the poorest people in the world.
“Every day, 4,000 children around the world die from waterborne diseases,” says Philippa Cox, the community and events fundraiser for the charity. “Our projects provide some of the world’s poorest people with access to taps and toilets; something we can too easily take for granted.”
Since 2005, FRANK Water has reached more than 300,000 people across 208 communities with safe drinking water and toilets.
“There is a perfect synergy between our work on safe water and the burgeoning interest in outdoor swimming,” says Cox. “Who better to understand the importance of safe water than a swimmer! As water splashes up your nose, into your eyes and mouth, the very last thing you want to worry about is whether it’ll give you diarrhoea – a worry that 783 million people live with every day.”

I created Outdoor Swimmer in 2011 (initially as H2Open Magazine) as an outlet for my passion for swimming outdoors. I've been a swimmer and outdoor swimmer for as long as I remember. Swimming has made a huge difference to my life and I want to share its joys and benefits with as many people as possible. I am also the author of Swim Wild & Free: A Practical Guide to Swimming Outdoors 365 a Year and I provide one-to-one support to swimmers through Swim Mentoring.
