Our top 5 heated lidos

Here at Outdoor Swimmer magazine, we’re big advocates of a cold water swim, but we understand that swimming outdoors in winter might not be for everyone. Here’s a list of our favourite heated lidos, so you can enjoy outdoor swimming even in the winter months.

1 – Lido Bristol

Built in 1850, Lido Bristol’s Victorian architecture was inspired by Egyptian design. This Victorian swimming bath is heated to 20-24 degrees year-round and comes equipped with a sauna, hot tub and steam room, making for a great outdoor swimming spot, particularly during the colder months.

2 – London Fields Lido

London Fields Lido in Hackney boasts a 50m Olympic sized, heated outdoor swimming pool, perfect for keeping up with your training plans through winter.

The Lido is also set to get a new learner’s pool as part of a £4.5 million upgrade to make the pool more accessible to adults and children learning how to swim.

Dubbed ‘London’s premier fitness destination,’ this 50m pool in south London is heated to 25°C and offers lane swimming all throughout the winter months.

Located in the small village of Hathersage in Derbyshire with stunning views of the Peak District, this open-air pool is heated to 28°C, making it an ideal spot for an outdoor swim no matter what the temperature is outside.

Nestled amongst the rose gardens of Jubilee Park in Lincolnshire, this heated 33m pool boasts a baby pool, slide and fountain – perfect for entertaining younger swimmers over the school holidays.
